Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Yes, the rumours are true! We have indeed been spotted in ill fitting tracky bottoms, sleek running shoes and funny little ankle socks.  In a moment of madness we decided to sign up for the 2009 Flora London Marathon.

We are running for the Neuroblastoma Society and have committed to raising £4000 for this charity which is very close to our hearts.  If you would like to know more please go to www.nsoc.co.uk It is a truly worthwhile cause which means a tremendous amount to us.

To get ourselves round we will have to brave many hours pounding the roads, very sore knees and even 6 am runs during the school holidays.  Oh yes, its going to be hard!

Your support would be greatly appreciated and would really drive us towards that distant finishing line.  So please dig deep and sponsor us online.

25th November 2008: Coffee morning. Thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning, especially those who baked cakes, made juice, and exhibited. You helped us raise over £500. Well done!

November 2008: The Grand raffle was wonderfully well supported by local businesses and friends and family. Thank you to everyone selling and buying tickets. We raised over £900 from the raffle. Thank you!

We have been in touch with the other runners supporting this wonderful charity. There are only 10 of us in all so every penny donated really does make a difference to this special cause. Their stories are both sad and uplifting. It has given us even greater determination to complete the gruelling training through the winter snow and ice.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. If you feel uncomfortable giving on line please write cheques to The Neuroblastoma Society and we will forward your donation.

Many thanks for your support!
