Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Yes it is that time of year and we are once again preparing for our next charity walk.
The 97 mile St. Oswald Way route from Hexham follows the beautiful countryside of Hadrian's Wall to the stunning Northumberland coast at Holy Island. It links important sites associated with the Northumbrian king and saint, Oswald. These are Bamburgh, which was his royal capital and Lindisfarne (Holy Island), where he installed the first bishop St. Aiden, a missionary bishop from Iona.
On this occasion we have chosen to support Crawford House in Newcastle, one of the 'Homes from Home' set up by the charity The Sick Children's Trust. Opened in 1996, it supports families with sick children receiving treatment at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. It has 23 private family bedrooms and fullly equipped living quarters with direct telephone lines to the hospital wards so families can be contacted immediately in the event of an emergency. All completely free of charge.
The charity is funded solely by voluntary donations from individuals, companies and charitable trusts, so they desperately need your contributions!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Sick Children's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
