We raise funds to support patients at Leeds Cancer Centre

Story

Welcome to, and thank you for visiting, our Just Giving page where you can follow, and hopefully help us, in our fundraising for this truly worthy cause.

The Yorkshire Cancer Centre is the fundraising arm of St James’s Institute of Oncology and provides specialist medical equipment, research and patient care to 1,500 patients each day. This is such a good cause to support, as so many people are affected by this dreadful disease.
My story (Chris)  “With my Wife Lisa’s experience in 2011 and 2012 of this dreadful disease, my family has seen first-hand the amazing treatments completed at this Centre of excellence, turning a real devastating blow for us into, what has become, an amazingly positive journey”. My story (Steve):“Ha have lined up already others fforts people are making to raiseving lost Sian’s mum to cancer a long time ago, then seeing the step forwards in developments that have been made in treatment, as well as, the way Lisa and many friends & family have made such a positive experience in coming through this terrible disease, was enough for me to commit to this great cause and, try and help Chris raise as much money as possible for Yorkshire Cancer Centre.”

Hopefully, with your help we can put something back in to the community, so that all those people affected by cancer can have the opportunity to access such amazing support from one of only a few Centre’s in Europe – we are so lucky to have this in Yorkshire and the UK !

Our aim is to raise a minimum of £6,500, but will do all we can to raise a lot more …with a little help from you!   We, together with lots of others, are raising monies for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre during 2013. The fund raising events we have lined up already include, a Nepal Trek in 2014, Curry Nights, Black Tie Dinner, ‘The Pain Barrier’ challenge, a couple of gigs supported by local Bands, raffles and we hope to do a lot more !

So whilst putting in some hard training this year, we will be working really hard to raise as much as we can.  All in all it’s quite a commitment so please give what you can and support our events. We aim to make sure that all these fundraising events are great fun, so put them in your diary and have a great time knowing you will be making a difference to peoples’ lives.
