Pay Tribute to the World’s Seafarers!

2010 has been designated the Year of the Seafarer by the International Maritime Organization in recognition of the unique contribution seafarers make to society and of the risks they undertake daily.

We ask you to help us raise £1 for every seafarer we reach annually and pay tribute to the world's seafarers for the vital role they play.  That’s 375,000 smiling seafarers!

Teekay Shipping have contributed £14,000 ($20,000), each pound of their donation representing 14,000 of the seafarers who will be given a helping hand by our Port Chaplains this year.

Funds raised will contribute to our international support network which offers practical help, emotional and spiritual support as well as financial assistance and family liaison to many of the world's 1.2million seafarers. This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for maritime organisations to show their solidarity with seafarers and support by donating to the cause.

Once you donate, Justgiving will send your money directly to the Sailors' Society and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer (company donations are not eligible for gift aid).
