Dear friends
I’m raising money for the Anthony Noland Trust, an independent charity which depends solely on the support of individuals and organizations to carry out its life saving work.
In brief, the Anthony Noland Trust matches patients who need an immune system boost (bone marrow transplant) with registered donors.
In the case of leukemia; intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used to eradicate the disease. The intensity of these treatments, known as conditioning, has the negative effect of severely weakening the patient’s immune system. The transplant provides the patient’s body with healthy cells capable of regenerating the immune system. The Trust constantly needs more people aged 18 - 40 to join its bone marrow register, especially young men and people from black and minority ethnic communities.

My challenge is to cycle through Cuba in 5 days covering approx 370 km (230 miles).
To achieve this I need to raise a minimum of £2800.
This is no mean feat, as I'm not an experienced cyclist!
But I'm putting myself up for it in memory of a dear friend Tommy McManus, who sadly lost his battle against leukemia 16 years ago.
It is also to thank the trust for the amazing support they have continued to give my mum, who I'm glad to say is in remission 15 years and counting.
