Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On May the 7th, 2011 I'm undertaking a mad idea that a good friend from Holland put to me. I am going to run from Edinburgh to North Berwick (20 miles). The money is to raise funds for The David Gordon Memorial Hospital in Livingstonia, Northern Malawi.

Malawi is amongst the worlds poorest and most densely populated countries and is ravaged by HIV/Aids (over 10% of the population are affected.) malaria and other diseases. Life expectancy is around 50 years, just about my age - well next year. By undertaking this run I hope to do my bit to improve matters.

Funds raised will be channelled through EMMS (www.emms.org) to the hospital where it will be spent on such things as providing water and solar power to outlying clinics, training staff and refurbishing the buildings.

Please help me to help those in such desperate need, for whom the things we take for granted are seen as riches indeed.
