Fiona Barry & I are embarking on a trek of a lifetime on the Great Wall of China. We have both started strict training programmes to enable us to climb the 2000 steps invoved ...with ease !!!

Fiona is deaf in one ear so the RNID is close to her heart. Did you know there are 9 million people n the UK who are deaf or hard of hearing? I am thrilled to be supporting this charity as it is a forgotten charity and deafness will affect most of us during our lifetime. If it not ourselves it will be a close relative or friend.

Tuesday 23rd June Estee Lauder Evening at The Curzon Hotel, Chester             

This was a great evening. Thanks to Christine, Anne & Michaela, the 'Estee Lauder Ladies' who made our evening extra special.

Saturday 5th September Frodsham Village Hall Coffee, Cake & Crafts

Another successful event. Thanks to all those people in Frodsham who bought all our cakes so we didn't have to eat them all ourselves!

Special thanks to all our helpers who willingly gave up their time and to the local business's who donated quality raffle prizes. The Cheese Shop, Hales Greengocer, The Flower Shop, Francesco Hair Design and Mother Earth. Dreams donated a beautiful teddy and Tesco a voucher for £20.00. Thanks.These helped us raise money for the RNID.

We have now been on our challenge to The Great Wall of China and wow what an experience. We really did have a fabulous time. The weather was great with blue skies and sunshine every day. We trekked for up to seven hours on some days which was a challenge in itself. The first day we had 1200 steps within the first hour! I can now run upstairs at The Curzon Hotel..several times without taking breath!

I thank everybody that helped us raise funds. We managed to raise almost £5500 for the RNID. Our husbands William and Gordon deserve a special thank you for helping us fundraise, train for the event and looking after our children during our absence...xxx
