My story

LAST YEAR, 20 MUSICIANS VOLUNTEERED TO PLAY THROUGHOUT THE DAY, MAKING 12 HOURS OF CONTINOUS MUSIC AND RAISING OVER £1000 FOR THE ZEPHANIAH TRUST - THIS YEAR, WE'RE AIMING EVEN HIGHER!

On Saturday 17 October 2009, more than 20 musicians will be playing throughout the day from 10am till 10pm at Shipley Baptist Church, New Kirkgate, Shipley to support the work done by Zephaniah - aiming to raise thousands of pounds! If you're in the area, call in and see us! Performers include: John Froud, Mark Drake, Lydia Drake, David Wilkinson, Cath Froud, John Biglands, Rich Bee, Martin Flett, Andrew Peacock, Smash the Windows Ceilidh Band, Gary Borrows, St Phillip's Girlington, St Cuthbert's Wrose, Dan Costigan, Dorothy West, Elizabeth Hopker, Julie Wilkinson, Ruth Pollard.

The Trust sends its workers - John Froud, Mark Drake and Julie Wilkinson - to "take light into dark corners" in more than 50 schools throughout Bradford and beyond. The team provide hundreds of assemblies every year, give lessons and workshops in RE, English, Music and performing arts, run after-school clubs, projects and events, and become part of school life - all aimed at helping children and staff to find out about faith for themselves and to know that God loves them. Most of this work is done either for no fee or at a heavily subsidised cost, so that our team can visit those places that need them most regardless of ability to pay. The Trust relies on the generosity of its supporters to enable the work to take place - we literally couldn't do it without you.

"You can have a good laugh with them and when they talk about Jesus, they show you how Jesus can help you in school, in life, or with anything really." Year 6 pupil

"For many people in the school, children and adults alike, their lively delivery of the Christian message of love and forgiveness really does touch them in a way that other more formal acts of worship sometimes fail to do. Our school would certainly be a darker place without their contribution." Elaine Schack, Deputy Head, Clayton CE Primary School, Bradford

We would really appreciate your support - please sponsor our musicians and help keep the light shining.
