Swimming the English Channel
    (the Everest of Swimming challenges)

Why Do it
Last year my brother asked If I would like to Swim the English Channel with him. My first reaction was YOU MUST BE NUTS!!!!!!!!!

A year later, my brother has had to pull out and I am 4 weeks away from one of the most gruelling swim challenges out there. My swim slot is between the 21st and 27th of September.

10 years in London takes its toll on the body.  Far too many good restaurants, good pubs and not much inclination to go to the gym, until your body starts to tell you with the odd pain or ache and the new, BIGGER wardrobe, that you can't go on like this. ACTION NEEDED TO BE TAKEN

To do my part to help raise some money for the Old age People of Zimbabwe, where just surviving probably the most stressful task they have ever had to endure.
No money raised on this site will go to meeting any costs incurred, My wife and I are funding this venture entirely on our own so every pound raised goes directly to making someones life a happier one

A Few Facts on Zimbabwe

1- Inflation running at 10 000 000%
2- Life expectancy for females is 34 and for males it is 37 years
3- The basic commodities like bread, milk, eggs, fuel, electricity  and medicines are in desperate short supply
4- A country, once a net exporter of food, cannot sustain its own people now
5- Every time I return there my heart just breaks to see how people now exist

Please help me in makeing a difference for people in this amazing place.  A small donation from you can support someone in Africa for a LONG TIME.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Homes In Zimbabwe will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
