Story

UPDATE: I finished the race - hooray! I completed it in 1 hour 11 minutes, was the 8489th woman to finish, and was 22309th overall! I now have a sore hip :-( as it went funny at 4km, but I kept on plodding to the end!! It was the sponsorship that kept me going, so thank you! My race number was 22496, and I think if you go to the great run website, you may get to see a photo of me (if there are any) at some point! If you saw the bbc coverage on Sunday evening, you'll have had total proof that I really did run it, as I made it to the big screen!

Thank you so much again :-)

Hello lovely people! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

You may or may not know that as part of my job here at The Message Trust working for In Yer Face Christian Theatre Company, I have a target of raising 50% of my salary per year through individual monthly supporters, church gifts, one off gifts, and fundraising events..... all that on top of doing a full time job! I'm not very good at this whole fundraising m'larky - being typically British I don't like asking people for money! But I do know that without the financial and prayerful support of my amazing friends and family, I wouldn't be able to do the job I do. At the moment, I have about 30% of my salary coming in through support - so still have a fair way to go. Which is why I am putting myself through the trauma of running the 10k again this year (or if last year is anything to go by, wobbling the 10k would be a more appropriate phrase!). So far I've been going to regular keep fit classes, run a bit, and even cycled 21 miles on Monday - so the training is happening, allbeit slowly! I'm aiming to survive the 'race' in around 1hour 10, but if I'm feeling good on the day may try for closer to an hour - who knows?!?

So if you've read this far, you're either intrigued (or bored), and might be thinking maybe you'd like to sponsor me in this act of craziness - if so, thank you! Please do sponsor me :-) Any amount would be much appreciated, and help me to reach my target, and enable us here at The Message to keep on offering our work at a subsidised rate (or free) to those who need it most. If you want to know more about The Message, or In Yer Face, or generally what it actually is that I do, please do just get in touch and I'll gladly bore you... I mean tell you all about it!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Message Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

If you'd prefer, I do have a 'paper' sponsor form too, so let me know if you'd rather sponsor that way.

The race is only a week and a half away - eek! As ever, I've left things a bit last minute with regards to the sponsorship - so please do have a think about whether you'd like to sponsor, and if you would, thank you so much!

You can even come and watch me wobble and cheer me on if you want to! I'm in the green wave this year (whatever that means!), but plonk yourself anywhere along the course between about 10.45 and 12.30 ish and I shoul stumble past you at some point!

Thank you :-)

Love from Zoe <><
