Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We are planning to cycle from Sutton Office to Brighton Office on the 11th of July 2008 to raise money for our challenges. We have set ourselves a target to raise £5,000. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Zurich Community Trust (UK) Ltd gets your money faster (in order to 50% match it to fund our challenge) and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Our money will be split with 2/3rd's going to The Children's Trust and 1/3rd towards the Demelza Hospice appeal. The Children's Trust, Tadworth provides care, education and therapy to children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs. Services are available to children from across the UK and range from special education for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities to short breaks, transitional, palliative and long term care. They also run the UK's largest rehabilitation centre for children who have an acquired brain injury. We will be supporting them through a number of practical challenges, such as those below. The money we raise will help buy the materials needed to complete the challenges. They have a Nature Trail which is in need of a clear and sweep and requires some fixing e.g wooden posts have fallen/broken and structures need repairing. They would also like us to develop a new themed area within the trail. Painting of garden furniture - The furniture around the site needs a sand down and repaint to keep them looking fresh and bright. Donating benches - They are in desperate need of some new benches so the children and staff can sit outside in the warmer weather, particularly outside the Woodlands House as they are old and rickety. General tidy up - They have 25 acres on site which is always in need of pruning, chopping, cutting back, dead-heading etc and they would welcome the planting of new flowers and shrubs. Our second charity is Demelza - Hospice Care for Children Demelza is an organisation providing hospice care for over 450 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South London. They are raising funds to build a new hospice in South London which will offer the following principal services: Residential short breaks for children in a six bedded unit, together with accommodation available for families wishing to stay with their child. End of life care Hospice-at-home services offering trained nurses and carers to help with children at home. Day care to enable families to leave their child with professional carers during the day. Bereavement Services and practical advise to the immediate and wider family.
