Running the New York Marathon was my big dream since I started running on 13th April 2001.

After entering the lottery for 3 subsequent years, I finally received a guaranteed entry to the Marathon in 2009. However, due to an injury, I couldn't participate and had to postpone my entry to 2010.

This year, I will eventually take part in this great race!

While planning for the Marathon, I felt that running it only to fulfill my dream was not enough, completing it would bring satisfaction to myself but it would be even better if it were beneficial for others as well.

Since 2007, I am supporting the German branch of Medecins Sans Frontiers ("Aerzte ohne Grenzen") with a monthly donation of Eur 50.

Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries. Their work and the commitment of their volunteers helps every year to save numerous lives and to improve the medical situation in less privileged regions of the world.
