In support of The AHOY Centre Charity 'The Carniv Oars' are various individuals from Fairfax Meadow the country's leading Catering Butcher & their partners from all areas of the Meat and Foodservice Industry. Team members Keith Edwards, Steve Betts, Stephen De Groot, Nick Davies, David Howarth, Julian Pickles & John Pinder are pulling together to row the English Channel because it sounded like a good idea at the time!

We have all agreed that rowing the channel is a suitable challenge which demonstrates our level of athleticism or insanity within the team. Of course our aim is to win out of the four boats leaving Dover....who knows next stop Olympics 2016!

Our team will consist of six rowers and one coxswain, it will take in the region of 5 hours to complete the grueling 22 miles! 

For many of our team this is the first time they will have picked up an oar and it will certainly be one of the most challenging events undertaken in their lifetime.
