Story

MUMI would fail miserably running a mile, let alone 100, so I am in awe of my sister setting herself this incredible (and, let's face it, scary) challenge to raise money for a cause so special to us. This is a disease that has affected my husband and now our daughter too.

In October 2020, Daisy was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Since then we have been backwards and forwards to Addenbrook's Hospital (no easy feat during lockdown and Covid) as we struggle to find a treatment that works for her. She has been acutely ill during this time and her day to day life has been impacted significantly. Because she is so young, treatments at the moment are limited. This is why research into and improving understanding of this disease is so important.

I cannot run, but I can navigate a social media platform or two (sort of), so creating, running and updating this fundraising page will be my job over the next few months - a welcome focus and distraction.

Any amount you might be able to give would be hugely appreciated, alternatively, simply sharing our story and increasing awareness would be equally amazing.

Thank you :)

DAISY (age 10)On 7 May 2022, my Aunty is going to run 100 miles! She is going to run all the way from Richmond in London to Oxford to raise money for CICRA.

It will take my Aunty  a long time to recover from this run, but she will be helping doctors and nurses find ways to make children with IBD better. This is so special to me as it shows how much my Aunty cares for me. I know all of my family cares,  but I do not think any one could run 100 miles! If you could give a bit of money towards this, you could change a child's life completely .

AUNTY KELLY:  I am an incredibly proud Aunty to my resilient, caring and happy-go-lucky niece, Daisy. The courage and strength Daisy has shown in fighting this disease has been amazing and despite her suffering she smiles through it all. I am honoured to be running 100 miles for a charity that is vital in helping children like Daisy manage their IBD. Whilst 100 miles feels very daunting I know that the challenge is no comparison to the ongoing battle children like Daisy face every day. It would be incredible if you are able to support 100 miles for Daisy and provide a more hopeful future for children with IBD. Thank you so much

Love Daisy, Jacqui, Richard, Will, Charlie and Aunty Kelly x
