Help me fundraise for The £10k Challenge and support Loughborough student mental health.

John Knights is raising money for Loughborough University

10k per day for 7 days - on LifeFitness X-Trainer · 5 February 2021

Campaign by Loughborough University (RCN HMRC Registered)
For 10 days over March, Loughborough alumni, staff, students and friends are invited to challenge themselves, by running or walking to fundraise £10,000 to support student mental health at Loughborough.

Story

I studied at Loughborough University, graduating over 50 years ago in 1969 (Chemical Engineering). The attitude to fitness that was alive even back then has had a positive impact on my health and wellbeing - especially important as one gets older - even though I did occasionally over-indulge on the beer .

This Challenge is an opportunity to help students who are suffering in unprecedented times. I am going to run 10k (6.2m) each day for seven days on a LifeFitness elliptical X-trainer. I can't run on the road as my ankles and knee joints have reached their sell-by-date but the muscles, heart and lungs are OK - I think!

For the nerds, I'll be running in the Sports Training Mode which provides random friction levels to duplicate hills and at level 11 (9 is average). I expect to cover the 10k in about 40 minutes and will keep you informed on a daily basis. So please help this 74 year old raise some money!!!
