Let's Go Round Again · 18 December 2019

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

This December, London North East Railway is celebrating the last days of service of one of the most iconic of all British passenger trains, the Inter-City 125. A special charter train will take a four-day journey along some of the key destinations on our network. We’re using this high profile event to help raise money for CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably.

CALM is a vital service that helps people at the darkest time of their lives. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and CALM provides vital services for those in need. By supporting CALM, you are helping to fund:

> Campaigns that target and tackle stereotypes around masculinity and male mental health.

> A free and anonymous helpline 0800 58 58 58 and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals

> A website www.theCALMzone.net with inspiring content by men for men

CALM’s goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men. LNER is proud to support this work, helping the communities we serve and shine a light on these issues.

Our special charter Inter-City 125 will bear a sparkling new recreation of the famous blue and yellow 1970s livery, with onboard tributes to the train’s long service and the memories of all those who worked and travelled on board.

If our tribute to the iconic Inter-City 125 has made you smile as it travels around our route for one last time and you would like to show your appreciation, please consider donating to this worthwhile cause and help us to save lives.
