Story
#sendhelp … Throughout the month of March I'm going to do a 165km March to Fight Ovarian Cancer!
Why?! March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and having done a PhD on a gene (BRCA1) known to contribute to hereditary ovarian cancer risk (granted...that PhD was almost a decade ago!), I want to raise awareness about the disease, the symptoms to look for (the best outcomes for treating the disease are associated with earlier detection and diagnosis) and I'll share some of the work different researchers, organisations and charities are doing to fight the disease. On average, 165 women are diagnosed in NI every year.
I'll "march" 165km over the next 31 days and share a little bit every day - if you'd like to contribute to the fight against Ovarian cancer - do so here on my justgiving page.
THANK YOU! Every bit helps organisations and researchers to fight harder and ease the battle for patients and families fighting the disease! <3
