Story

As the Kent MS Therapy Centre is temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 crisis, we are looking for new ways to raise vital funds for our vital services.

During MS Awareness Week (20-26 April), KMSTC is inviting members, volunteers, staff, supporters and anyone else who would like to get involved, to take part in our 'Let's Keep KMSTC Running' challenge!

The aim of the challenge is to complete 185km as a team, to recognise the 185 people who are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in Kent and Medway every year. You can take part in this challenge from the comfort of your own home, by climbing your stairs, running/walking around your garden, or using your exercise bike, running or rowing machine. All you need to do is track the distance you have travelled using your smart watch or phone. You can use Strava, FitBit, Google Fit, or any other similar application! Any questions, just email mmitchell@kentmstc.org.

All you need to do is track the distance you have travelled using your smart watch or phone. You can use Strava, FitBit, Google Fit, or any other similar application!

After your exercise, take a print screen of the distance you’ve covered and a selfie of you completing the challenge and send it to mmitchell@kentmstc.org

Everyone’s distances will be added together and will go towards the final total.

This challenge will be a great way for everyone to unite and raise vital funds for the Kent MS Therapy Centre at a time when we really need it. We’re aiming to raise £1,000 as a team so please join in the fun and share this page to raise sponsorship.

The Kent MS Therapy Centre is a self-funded charity providing much needed therapies & support clinics to people suffering from this cruel, debilitating & incurable disease. It takes over £600,000 per year to fund KMSTC, and we don't receive any central government or NHS funding towards this.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. MS is complex & has many symptoms which might include difficulties walking, vision problems, severe fatigue, spasticity & speech difficulties. The therapies available at the Centre help to alleviate these symptoms & help enable sufferers to lead the best possible quality of life.

About the charity
