Story

Hello, and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page,

I'm running the Berlin marathon on 26th September to raise money for Macmillan (www.macmillan.org.uk). They are an excellent charity who do a great job of providing support not only for cancer patients, but importantly also for their families.

My dad had been ill with cancer for some time, but became very ill very suddenly in September last year. A Macmillan nurse was on hand to provide him and us with practical support and information in a language we could understand.

Sadly, the cancer had spread to my dad's lungs and liver and he died on 5th October 2009. I'm running the marathon in his memory, and to raise as much money as I can so that Macmillan can go on providing support to all those affected by cancer.

I've already paid my entrance fee for the marathon, so every penny you can spare will go directly to the charity so that they can continue their good work.

Please give whatever you can, and let's raise a glass to Ian when I cross the line!

Thanks,

Ross.
