The Welsh Guards Charity has a number of objectives including commemoration, remembrance of those who have lost their lives or suffered injuries and to relieve persons who are serving or retired who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

We are a team of Welsh soldiers from the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards number 3 company, we will be competing in a 6.7 mile race from spean bridge to achnacarry house hq of the commando training center back in WW2, the duration of the speed march carrying a load of 16.5kg as fast as possible racing all other units of the armed forces.

The Welsh Guards Charity exists to support the Regiment, the Battalion and Welsh Guardsman of all ranks, both serving soldiers and retired veterans, and their families.

Our Objectives


  • To promote the efficiency of the Welsh Guards, by fostering espirit de corps and by such other means as the trustees shall from time to time determine.

  • To commemorate and remember those members, or former members, of the Welsh Guards who have lost their lives or suffered injury, or put themselves at risk of loss of life or injury, in service to the public.

  • To relieve either generally or individually persons who are serving or who have served in the Welsh Guards or the dependants of such persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

  • To advance the education of the public, including members of the Welsh Guards, in the history, deeds, traditions and role of the Welsh Guards.
