Story
Hi, it's Gary and Lee here
Thanks for all your support and donations!
In 200 days we ran 1,609km; (Gary-1,014km, Lee-595km).
And our London Marathon times were 3:29 (Gary) and 4:27 (Lee).
So, why '2000 in 200' ?
The challenge, between the two of us, is to run 2,000km in 200 days starting 30th September 2010 and finishing with the London Marathon on 17th April 2011.
So between us that's like running 50 marathons, or put another way like running from Land's End to John O' Groats.....and then back again!!
Anyway, the plan is to run in as many official races and events as we can to help raise the profile of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research combined with training sessions on the road, cross country and on the track. We will be keeping our progress on running watches with links below to our sites so anyone can see our progress....so no making it up (Lee)!
10 races;
3rd October - Lewes Downland 10mile (Gary - 1hr 22mins - PB)
17th October - Crawley 10km (Gary 45mins 26s)
21st November - Brighton 10km (Gary - 42mins 26s - PB!)
1st January - the 'Knacker Cracker' - 'toughest 10km in Britain' and running in fancy dress! (Gary - 1hr 6mins)
15th January - the 'Grim Challenge' (Gary - 1hr 20mins)
20th February - Brighton half marathon (PB's for both of us! Lee - 1hr 47mins, Gary - 1hr 31mins)6th March - Leith Hill half marathon (Gary - finished in 32nd place!! 1hr 41mins. very hilly!)
27th March - Woking 20mile (Gary - PB in 2hrs 24mins)
10th April - BRIGHTON MARATHON (Gary - PB 3:35.48)
17th April - LONDON MARATHON (PB's for both of us! Lee - 4:26.59, Gary - 3:28.56)
Why are we doing this
Yes, there is a personal challenge going on here but the really good bit is by doing this we can help support Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Take a look at their website here http://www.beatbloodcancers.org/
It's a charity close to our hearts with both of us having experienced family and friends fighting against blood cancers. Also knowing that this charity relies 100% on donations to continue supporting patients and their families and continuing vital research into treatment and cures we know all your donations will make a real difference.
Can you help?
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and we really appreciate all your support and donations.
