BirdLife Australia is proud to be the nation's largest bird conservation organisation. Together with our partners and amazing supporters, we protect native birds and their habitats through research, on-ground conservation, advocacy, education and community engagement.

Story

BirdLife Victoria's Twitchathon is back! And we're aiming to help save the Mallee Emu-wren and our threatened mallee birds. This year we want to raise money for research on the Mallee IBAs, important bird areas that are in danger (see http://www.birdlife.org.au/projects/threatened-mallee-birds). We will be running a 24-hour Twitch and an 8-hour Twitch. So, whether you've got a competitive streak, or you just want to have some caual fun counting birds, form a team and get involved. The Mallee Emu-wren is depending on you!

For any queries about Victorian Twitchathon, such as help with setting up a team, please contact Tim Dolby, email dolby.timothy@gmail.com or ring 0448 801 674. Details on how to enter your team are here: http://birdlife.org.au/locations/all-victoria-statewide/victorian-twitchathon.(Mallee Emu-wren image: Jon Thornton)
