24-Hour DJ Mix for Women's Aid

Max De Tommaso and Charlie Waterkeyn is raising money for Women's Aid Federation Of England

24-Hour DJ Mix for Women's Aid · 30 April 2021

Women’s Aid Federation of England is the national charity working against domestic abuse. Alongside our campaigning, training, and advocacy projects, our direct support services, including our Live Chat Helpline, support thousands of women and their children to escape abuse every year.

Story

The murder of Sarah Everard on 3 March 2021 has seen a powerful outpouring of shared experience from many women, including those within our own lives. The testimonies of harassment (or worse) that they have been subject to on a regular basis has quite rightly encouraged many of us to interrogate and confront our own behaviours and attitudes, both current and past.

This is not only a women’s issue. We feel it is essential that men positively engage in order for real change to manifest. With this in mind, we wanted to contribute somehow in our own small, but targeted, way.

Women's Aid is a charity which offers a lifesaving federation of frontline domestic abuse services. The charity’s large focus on educational programmes with a range of stakeholders is one of the key reasons we have chosen to fundraise for this particular charity.

Max and Charlie will be taking on the challenge of mixing tunes for 24 hours straight, starting from 19:00 on Friday 30 April. It's £10 a request, so please: get your wallets open and your groovin’ shoes on to help us raise money and awareness for a really important cause.
