PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

Papyrus is the national charity for the prevention of youth suicide. In 2015, four young people (under the age of 35) committed suicide every single day. Many more attempted or considered it. Papyrus believe that with appropriate support and education, many young suicides can be prevented. 





I'm not very good at many things, but I am good at barely sleeping and working out so I'm going to combine the two and do a sponsored 24 hour workout-a-thon on the 15th September 2017. 





I will be doing 24 workouts over 24 hours, every hour on the hour. Each workout must be completed within the hour and have been submitted to me by either my work colleagues from the gym, or my own personal training clients. If I finish any workout before the hour slot is up, that will be my rest.... until the next hour begins and I start another workout. 





Workouts are as follows (all named individuals are my colleagues)!






Midnight = 1000 rep glute challenge (10 exercises x 100 reps)
1am = Insanity session
2am = 250m row as fast as possible, 1 minute break x 10. Squat & push-up pyramid, 1 of each, up to 10 of each, back down to 1 (Alicja)
3am = 400 rep shoulders. 5x10 of barbell press, Arnold press, lateral raises SS front raises, reverse flyes SS face pulls (Jordan)
4am = Supersets: 4x8-10 deadlifts SS bench press. 3x10-12 lat pulldown SS glute bridges. 2x12-15 banded hacks SS cable lateral raises (Aaron)
5am = 6 rounds of 1min 8kg wall ball, 1min 12kg GTOH, 1min rowing, 1 min rest (Pedro)
6am = Circuits 40 min EMOM 5x bent over row, 10x push ups, 15x jump squats, 2 burpees (Dale)
7am = 1 min skipping, 1 min wall sit, 60m plank walk, 1 min burpees, 60m bear crawl. Repeated 5x (submitted by my group PT clients)
8am = Shoulder workout with Danielle
9am = 1 hour hip thrust ladder (submitted by my PT clients)
10am = Killer cardio with Ian (to involve kettlebells, sprints, jumps and skipping)
11am = Triple-sets: 3x8-10goblet squats, single arm row, reverse crunches (failure). 3x8-10Hip thrust, angled bar press, land mines (failure). Thrusters 4x30sec on 30 sec off. (Jack)
Midday = Abs with Claire
1pm = Leg workout with Guy
2pm = 30 secs battle ropes superset with 4 sets of each: bench press, DB press, bent over row, pull-ups, military press (Dan)
3pm = Death by clusters. Min 1 = 1 cluster, Min 2 = 2 clusters, Min 3 = 3 clusters... until you die (Guy)
4pm = Yoga with Meeta
5pm = Jordan’s spin class
6pm = 5k run (Marc)
7pm = Back workout with AJ
8pm = 21-15-9-6-3 reps of deadlifts, jump over bar burpees, ball slams (Steve)
9pm = 12 rounds boxing with Conner
10pm = 30 min AMRAP - 10 push ups, 10 burpees, 10 pull ups (minimum 10 rounds) (Dylan)
11pm = Dirty 300 - 100 pull ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats (Naith)
