Story
We really want to take part in this year’s “Whole Hog Challenge”.
There are many reasons for us to do this, obviously the main reason being the support it will provide for the Marie Curie nurses and the work that they do.
Our target is £300.00 and we will be taking part in the whole hog on 11 May.
Between the three of us; Tim Maton, Luke Jenkins and James Jennings we will have a headset camera to film the whole event which we will upload onto all of our facebook pages once we complete the challenge.
We all do have our own personal reasons for taking part:
James Jennings had his first taste of Charitable Giving last year when he completed the Cardiff half marathon within 2hours 14minutes.
Obviously after all the preparation and training; for him to be able to complete the marathon, gave him great pride and a feeling of well earned success!!
Now he has the taste he is more eager than ever to continue his good work especially for this cause; which the 3 of us are very dedicated to.
For Tim and Luke this would be our 1 real challenge; to provide funds for a charity.
Obviously Marie Curie now lies within our hearts and hopefully this will be the first of many challenges that we participate in.
Outside of our roles within the charity we are always happy to help with whatever we can; if we can.
For this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal..
Tim has had boxes placed in local community centres to help raise funds through that specific campaign.
We have all been employed by Marie Curie Cancer Care in the Fundraising Support Centre, Pontypool, for almost a year now. For us to have learnt, and see all the good things this charity does and continue’s to do for people gives us all great pleasure and has had a massive impact on the people we are now and how we will be in the future.
We will forever thank the Marie Curie Nurses and everybody involved within this Charity.
Forever in our hearts, thank you all xXx
