Story
Soldier 30:30 is a race to carry 30 lbs (13-and-a-bit kg) over either 30 miles across Exmoor. Just after the tail of Hurricane Lorenzo dumps a pile of water on the South West. Lovely.
So why are we doing this? Well, because Tom wanted a piece of the trekking pie after our CEO 'suggested' it. But really, it’s because there are communities around the world who don’t enjoy the same access to basic rights as we all did; safe communities, basic education, an opportunity to hone our sporting skills and develop our future talents.
That’s where The Buffalo Foundation comes in. The Foundation is our work's charity and aims to make a lasting difference to those people less fortunate than ourselves through sport, education and the creation of future entrepreneurs.
We currently support education academies in South Africa, where we fund teachers and equipment. But it’s not just about education; ultimately these Academies are safe spaces where children from local communities can come and access education support, as well as learn skills to help prepare them for their future.
You can find out more about one of these academies, Kwano, here:
Your support goes a long way to helping change lives:
- £25 could pay for maintenance of the cycling kit for one week, allowing students to train after they complete their studies
- £50 could pay an Academy's classroom rent for 1 month, providing a safe learning environment for students
- £60 could pay for one week of a tutor's time, providing educational support for academy students
Thank you!
