Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This unique charity fundraiser - 30 Hour Piano Playathon - will take place at Tesco Extra Irvine on Friday 18th October 2019 commencing at 10 am and finishing at 4 pm on Saturday 19th October 2019.

Featuring 30 talented pianists playing popular melodies for 30 consecutive hours, entertaining customers, whilst raising funds in aid of three inspirational charities - Centrestage (SCO39611), Ayrshire Hospice (SCO11390) and Swanson Family Charity (SCO48324).

All donations will be very gratefully received and can be made in three different ways - by means of this dedicated 'JustGiving' page, via a 'Bucket Collection' at the event itself, or by 'Sponsor Form'. The combined donations received will be shared equally between the three nominated charities.

An introduction to the three nominated charities ......

Centrestage (SCO39611) - Founded in 2006, Centrestage is a multi-award-winning charity based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire that believes anyone, regardless of age, background or experience can gain life changing social benefits through the active participation in the arts, particularly music, drama, dance, visual, digital and culinary arts. Their Vision is 'To build energetic and inclusive communities with the Arts at the Heart' and this is delivered through a wide portfolio of activities including Creative Learning, Connect, Catalyst and On the Road, plus many others. The charity currently operates across seven sites in Ayrshire, welcoming over 3,000 participants each week. In 2020, they will open the doors to their new home 'Centrestage Village', the former Kilmarnock Academy.

Ayrshire Hospice (SCO11390) - The Ayrshire Hospice provides care and support to people living with life-limiting illness across the whole of Ayrshire. Care is provided in a number of places including people's homes, hospitals and care homes as well as in the Ayrshire Hospice purpose built care and in- patient units. The Ayrshire Hospice not only care for people's physical needs but also look after their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. Family members, close friends and carers are also supported both during a person's illness and in bereavement. The care provided by the hospice is at no cost to patients or their families but in order to provide this care the Ayrshire Hospice has to raise over £4.5 million annually through voluntary donations.

Swanson Family Charity (SCO48324) - The Swanson Family Charity is founded in loving memory of the late Ron & Mary Swanson, who served as missionaries in Chitambo, Zambia for a seven year period from 1960 - '67. In honour of their legacy the primary objective of the charity is to provide much needed practical support for the community of Chitambo. 'Connecting Chitambo's Children' is at the heart of the charity and at the cornerstone is love, unconditional love. Our mission and vision is to make a meaningful and sustainable difference to the lives of Chitambo's children; practically and financially supporting projects which improve, enhance and advance education, health, food nutrition / security and relieve poverty within the community. We are currently fundraising to enable the construction and furnishing of a Mothers' Maternity Shelter in Chitambo.
