London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

Phab inspires and supports disabled and non-disabled children, young people and adults, to make more of life together, through our network of 130 clubs & residential adventures - breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for all involved.

Story

We are 3 Lads, 3 Dads. The team is made up of Mike (Pooh Bear), Ben S (Willy) taking on the Virgin Money London Marathon and Ben H (Saladback) completing the Thames Marathon Swim: three dads in their thirties that are looking to take on a challenge and raise money for this great cause.

We used to be regulars on the endurance event circuit, but that was postponed about 5 years ago when the first of our kids came along. We've now got 6 between us and are ready to get back on the endurance challenge horse. Raising our children has given us a different outlook on life and we now realise how parents strive to provide their kids with every opportunity to grow, develop and succeed as people.

The team at Phab do an incredible job at offering opportunities and activity camps to children that may have never had the chance. Whether it be disadvantaged children or those with disabilities, everyone is included and the Phab team allow them to live fuller lives.
However, such specialist equipment and care, needed to run such programs doesn't come cheaply!

A year's worth of training will be required to get through these challenges. 26.2 miles is a long way to run and 14KM is a big old swim (unless you're a salmon). But having seen the differences this charity can make to a child's life, we are more than up for it.

The first Phab project began in 1957, and for nearly 60 years the
charity has encouraged and supported children and adults with and
without disabilities to make more of life together

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. P.S - There are 3 of us training for this cause;  that's 3 times the early mornings, 3 times the cold nights training, 3 times the blood, sweat, tears, 3 times the pain, 3 times the distance!  So, 3 times the donation!?

Big love,

Pooh Bear, Willy & Saladback
