We provide life-saving treatment to men in suicidal crisis.

Story

On October 17th 2014, our lives were changed forever with the tragic loss of Mike Thompson.

Mike will always be known for his intelligent, ambitious and light-hearted nature (with a passion for LFC!) but those closest to him have been exposed to the upsetting truths of suicide in young adults, the greatest cause of death amongst young men (15-35) in the UK.

On September 19th, 16 of us will take on The National Three Peaks Challenge to earn your donations for the James Wentworth-Stanley Memorial Fund. This is a 24 mile trek across Snowdon (Wales), Scafell Pike (England) and Ben Nevis (Scotland) with summit heights accumulating to 3407 metres - all in 24 hours.

Our chosen charity were of great comfort to Mike's family in their time of need, and they fund a number of important and closely related initiatives. The JWSMF was set up following the loss of James, another loved, bright and successful young person; which is remarkably similar and shocking. http://www.jwsmf.org/ is their site, so please take a look at how your donations will help.

Please donate what you can for our cause in Mike's name; even if it's just a few pounds. To do this, you can donate on this page (it's fully legitimate and trustworthy!) or simply Text:

'MKYT89 £5' (or your chosen amount) to 70070.

Thank you for reading and for your support!

Much love xx

Our mission is to stop men dying by suicide and we believe death by suicide is preventable. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. At James’ Place, we provide proven, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.
