Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

18th May

We did it!!  We power-walked through the night, the whole 26.2 miles in just 6 hours and 13 minutes!! Yes you should be impressed, although it was abit like the tortoise and hare, where we powered off for 20 miles, overtaking everyone who was in front of us but then we hit the WALL - and those walkers we had only just overtaken, started to overtake us and there was nothing we could do about it - everything hurt!!

Anyway 2 days later and apart from feeling tired today, no aches and pains, just a blister the size of the Wales on right foot - we can now say it was amazing.  Just to be in London - a beautiful city - at night was breathtaking, we crossed nearly all the bridges and so covered everybit of London and saw the sun rise on Sunday morning - it was about 4 o'clock, if you were wondering.

We have a fabulous medal with a Bra on to show to the world and great memories of the incredible bra designs that women and men had made, and the atmosphere of the Playtex city marquee to keep for a life-time, because I , ( don't know about Elaine) have no intention of doing the walk again !!!!

Thank you to all of you who donated and who helped us to over achieve our target - it goes to an excellent cause.

Photos of medals will follow.

Lots of love to you all

Michaela and Elaine xx

15th May

Ok this is it - we'll soon be on our way!!

Elaine managed to pull her hamstring in the week by not warming up properly, and had to have acupuncture on Thursday - ouch!  Feeling loads better, but defnintely not up to the high standard of fitness originally achieived - dammit! How could she be so careless?

Elaine tried on her bra this morning, which was newly decorated and looking fab, but couldn't wear it for more than 5 minutes because it was too tight, on account of the bottom fringing - blast!  Michaela has very kindly offered to un-pick it on the train on the the way up to London and tack it on loosely when we get to Hyde Park - a bit last minute, but what a lovely sister to offer to do this!

Tried the enery bars that Elaine bought from Holland & Barratt (chocolate orange and highly recommended by one member of staff), but they were so disgusting, we are counting on jam & nutella sandwiches (not combined!) and jelly beans to give us energy.

Elaine is having a loss of confidence in her ability to complete this marathon walk!

3rd May - Michaela and I went out a bought everything we needed for decorating our bras today - fringes, bows, dye, chiffon - we shall look spectacular!

2nd May - Yep - we did it - 20 miles in the pouring rain, wind and freezing cold - a typical bank holiday weekend! It took us about 5 hours and we were seriously dreaming about cups of tea from about 10 miles! One consolation was that we saw the sweetest baby owl sitting in a garden - he had obviously inadvertently come out of his nest, and wasn't quite sure how to fly back up to it! According to Michaela's nature knowledge, he was not to be rescued and taken to a wild life centre, as he needed his mother to take care of him and he would be rejected as soon as human hands touched him.  We just hoped that he would fly to his nest before a cat or fox thought he would make a tasty supper!

24th April - Training wasn't quite so good today - Elaine was hung over and Michaela was very tired from a Girl's Night the night before and she managed to get 5 blisters from the walk - ouch!  We still did 16 miles though and managed to run away from 2 horses in a field who we think were intent on stealing our jam sandwiches - that put paid to Michaela's sunbathing!! We also took a shortcut across a field which didn't go quite according to plan when we discovered the field gate that we were going to leap over was covered in barbed wire! We were quite spectacular though with our army commando style roll under the gate - I hope no-one was watching!

19th April - Training even harder - 2 bosom buddies - Elaine and Michaela, completed our longest walk last friday - 16miles in  3 hours 53 minutes - now that was power walking.  If you are impressed - give us more of your hard earned cash.  You know how!!!!

March . We're training hard to complete this marathon power walk - Michaela is even getting muscly calves! (very attractive). Elaine's bum is looking good and Kate is enjoying the chatting time!

So far our longest power walk has been 10 miles which we completed in 2.5 hours, which we thought was pretty good! We especially enjoyed the tea and cakes taken at 8 miles at The Shop at Strood Green. Elaine can recommend the coffee cake!
