Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
James and Lenise's daughter Thea was born on 2 May 2018 and happens to have Down's Syndrome. PSDS (Providing Support for Children with Down's Syndrome and their families) is a registered charity whose principal goal is to provide support for children with Down's syndrome and their families, they have provided invaluable support to Thea and her family over the last year and will play a huge role in Thea's life for many years to come.
As well as regular Family meet-ups to share experiences and provide a network of support, friendship, advice and expertise; PSDS also provide a range of professional services, such as early development groups and speech and language therapy, and have an extensive library of resources for members and their families to make use of. Their aim is for children with Down's Syndrome to have access to the opportunities available to all others and for there to be no ceiling on what any of our children might achieve.
PSDS are run by parents for parents and are entirely self-funded. Demand for their services has increased greatly and the age range of children and young people benefiting from services provided by PSDS has grown significantly too.
It costs £107,000 to provide the current levels of support, an increase on last year of £21,000. PSDS have launched a special fundraising initiative - the PSDS 21 Champions Challenge - to bridge this gap. Whilst we have pledged to raise at least £1,000 (as a group) for PSDS as one of their 21 Champions, we'd really love to raise as much funds as possible!
Now onto the challenge...and as the title gives away, we (Lenise, James, Francois, Will, Yani, Ali, Dennis, Clare) are attempting to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge (yikes!) on 10-11 August.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles.

PS. If you would like to join us crazy lot on this challenge, please do get in touch with James and Lenise. We have a couple of spots available!
Also, if anyone is looking for a road trip from Wales back to London we'd be extremely grateful for a lift back to save our tired legs at the end of the challenge ;)
If you do happen to donate, THANK YOU!! It'll certainly help spur us all on during the challenge but more importantly you'll be helping PSDS help others to reach their full potential - something we are all entitled to.
