Event: Scouts Scotland Wheely big abseil, on 21 March 2020
Participants: Robbie Shanks Keir Rawding and Ruaridh Smith
*Update* The Wheely Big Abseil had to be cancelled in March 2020 due to COVID-19, but it has now been replaced with a brand new sponsored zip-wire event taking place on the longest zip-wire in Fife at Fordell Firs on 23rd/24th October 2021.

Story

Keir and Ruaridh are taking part in the Abseil to show that scouting is available to everyone and gives experiences that may not be available elsewhere.

Keir and Ruaridh have been involved in scouting since Beavers and Cubs and wanted to try something new and exciting whilst also helping to raise funds for the scout group and for other scouts across Scotland. It's not often you get a chance to Abseil down the a Nationally recognised building and this is an ideal demonstration of the exciting and unusual activities that scouts can get involved in.

Thanks to your support we can continue to give young people and adults unforgettable experiences and life-changing opportunities, regardless of background, ability, gender or sexuality. And it's not just our members who benefit from Scouting; the work we do makes a difference in communities across Scotland.
