Story
Thank you so much for visiting my newest just giving page and for taking the time out to read this.
We find ourselves reading another one of my justgiving pages for yet another marathon so I thought I would try and mix it up a touch this time just to make things a touch different, instead of one race, I am going to running FOUR races, in TWENTY FOUR hours... But for now a bit about the past...
Since 2007 i have been running marathons and combining this alongside raising vital monies for vital causes.
I have in this time competed in in 20 marathons which have seen me run in London, Boston, New York, Chicago, Berlin, Italy, Athens, Paris, Loch Ness and many other destinations.
2013 was a stunning year for me personally running in four marathons and achieving a personal best time of 2 hours and 45 minutes in Paris, running a Guinness World Record in London then picking up a 5th place finish in the Halstead Marathon before winning the Dart Vale Marathon. All of this was topped off by striking the £50,000.00 mark raised for charities since i started running.
This £50,000.00 is spread across a number of charities including Parkinsons Disease Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, Help The Aged, The Histiocytosis Research Trust and Help For Hero's.
I am back raising vital monies for Macmillan Cancer Support since losing an incredibly special person to me back in April. Nanny passed away just one week before this years London Marathon and running that on the day was a real tough one with all the grief we suffered in her passing but I knew she would have wanted me to compete.
Nanny previously battled breast cancer and always though very highly of this charity and its an honor and a privilege to be able to be running for her once more and I have every confidence she will be supporting me all the way.
This years challenge will take every single bit of energy I have, I have never tackled a challenge so tough and so daunting but I know alongside Nanny's support I will also be able to rely on the support of my family, friends and in particular my Fiancée who is worthy of a special mention seeing as she puts up with training twice daily... And also seeing as she set this challenge to me...
The challenge is to run on the Saturday afternoon a 5k race followed by a 10k race, this will be followed on the Sunday morning by a half marathon and then a full marathon. The challenge will be both physically and mentally draining in every aspect although I am a firm believer in taking out of something what you put into it and anyone who knows me knows I will be training for this harder than ever.

As always i have to sign off by thanking each and every one of you who has taken the time out of your day to read this, without your support what i do would not be possible and in turn, the work that this fantastic charity does would not be possible.
Much Love.
Joe Elliott.
