Story
Nobody could fail to be inspired by the Olympic Games this summer. But what could we do to support this word that everybody spoke about but nobody really understood – Legacy. It struck me that I could embark on a personal journey to help others, in the process of getting fitter myself.
I'm 50 in April 2013 – why don't I do 50 sports before I'm 50? “Brilliant” my enthusiasm-weary colleagues replied – why don't you try Cliff Diving and Dressage? Well which one first? Well if the horse doesn't finish you off there'll be a queue of us right behind you on the cliff edge!
And so it was born "50 Shades of Play"
My aim is to participate in 50 sports before I'm 50, my goal is to inspire and encourage people along the way.
All donations will go towards our Rising Stars programme - finding talented athletes for Rio and beyond, and Sporting Chance - to support sporting activities for people with physical and mental disabilities.
Every penny counts, so please donate as much as you can afford and help us persuade the nation to get active.
