Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am an out of the box thinker, a pattern breaker and mould maker.
I have a vision that it is possible to do 50,000 of a given something in day, skips jumps spins of a coin or....
In my case I have decided to run 50,000 Metres in a day - that's just over 31 miles, 6 more than a marathon. I am currently 50lb overweight, 50k in a day right now would kill me I'm quite sure. But in 100 days it will happen. I will drop the 50lb and run the 50.000 metres - hence 50KinaDay please read below how I arrived at this goal and follow me on twitter @50KinaDay
Last year I travelled to Brazil as a guest of Steve Hayes to celebrate his 50th birthday, it was a trip to remember and one I will never forget. I worked my ass off and enjoyed every minute, I promised at the time that I would raise £3000 for Cancer Research - Now my time has come, I was not ready then to do it, I did not realise it but my head was in a bad place. I was struggling to keep it all together - I just couldn't begin to raise the cash. Take a look at what we did https://vimeo.com/32194940
Now things have stabilised and I am ready, I have never been one to do things by halves. If I do something I want to do something properly and give it 100%. To achieve something special takes just a little bit more than to do something that is average. Average is not a word that I wish to associate with, so for me to raise 3k would be good but average. My vision is to use the power of internet and an unrelenting commitment to achieve something special, something that can make a real difference to tens of thousands of people for generations to come.
50KinaDay is about raising £50,000 in a day, to do this we need to build a following of 50,000 tweeters that are all Real, Ready and Willing to give at least £1 to Cancer Research - 50KinaDay has set up a Just Giving page and can be easily accessed via http://www.justgiving.com/50kinaday . I know that most people that read this will not know me, but I hope that in time you will get to know me. I recognise that trust is a special thing and trust needs to be earned, faith is even more precious and comes from your trust in how a future event will unfold.
Today right now I am asking for your trust and faith – I am asking you to give £1 to cancer research via 50KinaDay right now - not tomorrow or next week but now before you forget and your life takes over again. I am asking you to do one more thing if you are on facebook add me please and announce what you have done, if you are on twitter follow me @50KinaDay and tweet what you have done, if your are on linked in add me jbw@50KinDay.com if you are on all three please announce to all three - I need YOU and the power of the internet to make this happen. I am dropping the weight and I will run the 50k on October the 28th 2012 in the UK (route to be confirmed.
My vision gets bigger, what if I could find another driven lunatic like me to repeat this moulded plan in a different country? Reaching another group of people that I could never reach - speaking a different language and in funding in a different currency... Wow what a thought;
Maybe I could a lune in 50 different countries to do the same thing, and so on.... maybe just maybe... First lets drop the 50lb weight run the 50K and raise 50KinDay and celebrate ..... I need YOU .... If you are willing to have faith in me then take action now and be proud of yourself that you are part of a bigger plan.
Thanks for taking the time to read what 50KinaDay is all about, and I look forward to meeting you soon be it online or at the finish line on the 4th of November 2012. Thanks JBW
