Marine Corps Marathon 09 · 25 October 2009
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
The United States Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) 2009 is being held in Washington D.C. in October. It's a 26.3 mile run, is the fourth largest in the U.S. and all the runners for this site are serving commando trained personnel who have recently returned from Afghanistan.
24 Commando Engineer Regiment are combat engineers who act in support of the Royal Marines by carrying out explosive entry to buildings, mine clearance and detection, construction and bridging, as well as being highly trained infanteers.
Formerly 59 Independent Commando Squadron, we retain the tight knit working relationship that is essential in hostile environments.
We endeavour to be the best in everything we do. Taking part in this marathon is our way of showing gratitude to all the men and women who have served, been injured or lost their lives while serving in the British Army and United States armed forces.
Please be generous in your support. 'Squadron!'
Many thanks,
Dyl Jones, Ryan Evans, 'Sol' Sollerer, Pete Sutton, Sean Edwards, Daniel Hannon, all of the Regiment / Squadron and everyone who has supported the 59 Marathon Team.
