Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 22nd of October 2017, 5 members of 621 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron, will be competing in the 42nd US Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC. The competitors range in age, experience and fitness ability and some have never attempted a marathon before. All of those taking part will attempt to complete the Marathon carrying 35 lb packs on their backs. This challenge will see them running for between 5 and 7 hours and burning upwards of 4000 calories.

Why, the challenge? Partly, but our main aim is to raise upwards of £5000 for the Felix Fund, a charity which specializes in providing financial support to all that have served in, or alongside the Bomb Disposal Community. Many of the competitors have injured friends and colleagues, that have directly benefited from the fantastic support the charity provides.

Please give as much or as little as you can, you have a chance at making a real difference to those in need.

About the charity

Felix Fund supports bomb disposal and search personnel and their families. We provide welfare assistance and financial support for anyone who has conducted or assisted with bomb disposal duties; across all three services and the Met Police Counter Terror Unit SO15.
