We're raising money for Mind, the Mental Health charity as it's a cause close to our hearts. We're 6 from a wider group of friends from South East London who've known each other nearly 17 years now. As such we've shared a lot of experiences together- both the good (A levels results, Patball and Hearts tournaments galore), and the bad (Fuertaventura, the doors at Berlin nightclubs). There have been good and bad times, for us all naturally- there are no pretensions or illusions amongst us. This challenge is one that was originally laid down during one of these good times, but on closer reflection goes a lot deeper. 

From time to time, there have been occasions where even your close friends alone may not be enough, and you need a bit of extra support. There is no shame in this- Mind have fulfilled this role for at least one of our group, through the provision of Mental Health Support Services in Bromley, and as such it's a cause we all very much believe in and one which personally affects us and our families. 

For the uninitiated, the 3 peaks challenge sees contestants climb the highest peak in each of the three constituent countries of Great Britain (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdonia for Scotland, England and Wales respectively) in around 24 hours. As you can imagine, a lot of planning, teamwork and effort goes into this, but I'm sure you'll agree it's for a worthy cause. We have varying degrees of fitness in the group, but we're confident of seeing this through. 

We've all been relatively fortunate, we all have our relative health (touch wood) and have gone onto successful careers. Several of our group have gone on to be Doctors, and will know the importance of this cause professionally, as well as personally. So we ask you, our wonderful friends and family to support us in this great endeavour, and give whatever you can. 

All funds raised go directly to Mind- all costs are being met by ourselves for this challenge.
