We create music-making opportunities to improve the lives of disabled people

Story

On Sunday 17th May 2015, I will be one of three of Aberdeenshire Council's Arts Development Team donning our running shoes to run/walk/crawl the BUPA Great Women's 10k in Glasgow.

As a warm up, (phhhhh!) on the 26th of April, Kirsty and I will both be cycling the 66miles, 106km Loch Ness Etape. The route takes us round the circumference of Loch Ness at one point involving a climb of up to 12% gradient/380m over 4.8 miles!

This year, I have decided to raise money for a fantastic charity which I have the privilege of working closely with through my main job as Youth Music Initiative Co-ordinator for Aberdeenshire Council. One of our projects funded by Creative Scotland is provided by Drake Music Scotland (DMS). The work DMS does is life changing to children and adults who are not always as lucky as others in having access to music making opportunities. Drake Musc Scotland ensure that children and adults with additional support needs have access to play, learn and compose music independently.
