72(R) Squadron Centenary 100-Miler · 27 June 2017

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. In 2024 we assisted more than 64,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2026 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

72 Squadron personnel currently embarked on their Basic Fast Jet Training Course have decided to take on a gruelling 100 mile walk in 72 hours to commemorate 72 Squadron's centenary year and to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund. The route, encompassing the entire South Downs Way, has been carefully selected to pass through Tangmere, the airfield where the Squadron flew Spitfires from during World War II and will coincide with the centenary flypast being flown by some of the Squadron's instructors in the current aircraft, the Tucano.

Please give whatever you can in order to help this incredible charity and commemorate the previous century of aircrew that have flown for this incredible RAF unit!
