Story
In September this year 7JLC chose to support Jeremiah's Journey through a class vote. Over the course of the year the whole tutor group will be working to raise money by doing various events and challenges. We have already run a cake sale, made & sold Christmas decorations and Mrs. Cooper held a New Year Raffle.
During February - March all members of the class have been set the task of completing a personal challenge. The challenge that each young person is completing has been chosen by them and we are asking you to support the class through your donations.
Personal challenges include:
- Staying silent for 1 day
- Walking 37 miles in a month
- Drinking only tap water for 5 days
- Running 5 miles in a month
- Running 20 laps of the Astro
- Doing 25 handstands everyday for a month
- Going without a phone for 1 week
- Going 1 day without using any devices
- Reading 5 books in a month
- Cycling from Plympton Woods to the Moors with only 1 stop
Mrs Cooper is also joining in with the personal challenges by completing a Polar Bear Challenge (Swimming 200m meters, twice a month, from November - March, in outdoor unheated water, only wearing a swimming costume, hat and goggles.)
We have set up this page for the class as a whole as our fundraising is about what we can do as a team rather than how much money any individual student can raise. If you can make a donation, even a very small amount, it will mean a great deal to the students. Not only will you be donating to a very worthy cause but also showing them what can be achieved working as part of a team.
