Story

Somehow, 7 women who have little to no experience of running have managed to sign up for (wait for it…) not just a run (it’s coming…) not just a MUD run (still coming…) but a NUCLEAR MUD RUN.  Thankfully, 1 foolish man (aka duped husband) has agreed to run too to carry us all round.  Hallelujah.

On Saturday 13 May Jessica, Catherine, Jenny, Rebecca, Laura, Freya, Fiona and Luke will battle obstacles, mud, water, slides, monkey bars and of course running.  It’s all to say thank you to St. Luke’s Hospice who took incredible care of our darling Mum/Sister/Auntie Anne when she suddenly became ill and sadly passed away at the beginning of this year.  We thought hospices were clinical and sad places, but as it turns out they are wonderful, peaceful and tranquil, full of compassionate people.

Not only did they take care of Anne in such a dignified and loving way they also took care of us.  Sadly, for the second time as our Mum/Nana also died there.

St. Luke’s costs about £5.5 million a year to run, but has to raise the large majority of that through fundraising.  So we’re asking you to help us raise as much as possible so that St. Luke’s can continue to look after their patients and their families at such a critical time of need.

Anne loved anything adventurous, celebrating her 61st birthday by wing walking.  We know that she will be with us on the 13th, although she’d be doing more laughing with us than running.

Thank you all,

The mud ladies & duped husband x
