We provide a safe haven, food & friendship to homeless & vulnerable people in the NE

Story

We are walking the entirety of Hadrian's Wall in under 48 hours. This will mean walking 42 miles on each day, on the ups and downs of the rickety wall path. We hope it will be an inspirational experience, as we explore the heritage around us and push each other to the limit as a team.

We have chosen this charity because of the devastating impact of homelessness on an individual. It is a major problem, especially in the north of England, where perhaps cuts have been more keenly felt. Over the last 25 years, the number of food banks has risen to over 800 today, used as a regular source of food by over a million people in the UK.

The People's Kitchen in Newcastle relies entirely on charitable donations. Last year, it provided 40, 000 hot meals to homeless and disadvantaged peoples, 46% of whom had no registered family or friends to look after them. Thank you for your support.

About the charity

We are a non judgemental charity. We serve 250-300 hot meals a day, 365 days a year. We also provide clothing and bathroom facilities. We are 100% volunteer led & we receive no government funding. We rely on the generosity of the public to be able to support those less fortunate than ourselves.
