Story
My Mum has recently been diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer. She was first diagnosed at the age of 30 and underwent a mastectomy and hormone treatment. She was given the news that the cancer had returned in January this year and underwent more surgery in February. She is currently undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatment with other treatments to follow in the near future.
She was advised by a family friend to attend the Larks support group set up by the Marina Dalglish Appeal to support people with cancer. She attends the group every Monday and receives much needed support, therapies and feel good treatments. She always looks forward to Mondays and it gives her the pick me up she really needs at this difficult time during treatment.
For this reason, myself, my Sister, my Nan and a number of my Mum's work colleagues have decided that we would like to take part in the Race for Life on 17th June 2018 to raise money for the Marina Dalglish Appeal to thank them for their continuous support and putting a smile back on my Mum's face.
