As always I've spent time thinking about which charity I should support this year and after more research I have decided to support Hand In Hand For Aid Development again (see articles they've been mentioned in: https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2015/mar/12/syria-crisis-how-you-can-help-donate-aid AND https://m.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/how-to-help-aleppo-charities-and-organisations-to-donate-to-including-msf-the-red-cross-and-the-white-helmets_uk_584ff7a8e4b040989fa80770) .

When I asked HIHFAD's UK Aid Manager how I could help Syrian children this year, he told me that there are 74 ORPHANED CHILDREN IN HOMS whose donor has withdrawn support. I immediately promised to raise money for them and he assured me that 100% of the money raised will go directly towards them. My heart is heavy and I have tears in my eyes imagining how terrible it must be to not only lose your home, your school, everything you know, but also your parents. I really hope we can smash my target this year.

Here are the facts about the charity:

1. They are a charity that works from within Syria and employs approximately 550 Syrians who know the region and their people to provide direct and effective support.

2. They have a 100% donations policy and I have been assured that any admin fee is covered by the volunteers themselves.

3. The work they do is incredible. From emergency relief, medical aid, building hospitals, setting up schools to community empowerment - they take a holistic view in caring for Syrians.

Syria has been reduced to rubble and millions of people’s lives have been destroyed. It is our duty to make sure that no one is left without food, clean water or shelter. These children's lives were torn apart through no fault of their own. They’ve seen their loved ones killed and have had to leave their beautiful homes with nothing but the clothes on their back. Please join me in making a small difference to these beautiful children's lives.
