Highland Cross is a 50 mile duathlon (walking or running 20 miles and cycling 30 miles) across Scotland from Kintail to Beauly. The event is organised by volunteers to raise funds for charities across the Highlands. Since 1983, over £6.3m has been raised and distributed in full to deserving causes.

Story

Well, here we go again! This is the third time I am running 20 miles and cycling 30 from the west to the east coast. It seems a hell of a long way when you are on one of the dozens of buses taking us super athletes from Beauly to the start at Morvich....probably because it is! My main fear - apart from passing out en route - is getting a puncture. Will just have to get a fireman to help out if that happens. Local charities benefiting this year include Chest, Heart & Stroke, Blythswood Care, Leonard Cheshire and Shopmobility Highland.  It's such a buzz when you come across a minibus with "donated by Highland Cross" written on it. Thanks very much for your generosity once again. I really appreciate it. Anne Marie
