We support the contributors in our films to help change lives post transmission

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running 10K for the Aletheia Foundation (registered charity no 1110096). The charity is attached to True Vision Productions, and we're running to raise some money to help some of our past contributors!

True Vision is production company that has been running for 20 years making award-winning social change documentaries. Working with lots of vulnerable families and individuals around the world, True Vision's aim is to give a voice to those in difficult circumstances and raise awareness about social issues.

We understand that because of this, many viewers want to be able to help the people in our films or help the cause we are highlighting. When possible, we will direct donations to existing NGOs and Charities but sometimes there is no help or services available. That's when the Aletheia Foundation steps in and offers support, whether that's providing counselling, books for education or a simple day of fun for those who might normally miss out.

For the first time, we've decided to raise money for some of our past contributors who we have kept in touch with, who need a bit of help. We are primarily raising money for Nok, an orphan from Swaziland who featured in our film about Tuberculosis on BBC in 2014. Nok has to walk 30K every day to go school and we want to raise some money to help with transportation.

Any donations I personally receive will go towards helping some of the young people I worked with for the past year on the 2016 BBC One Special, Prison, My Parents and Me.  Slipping through the cracks, some of the children I have been working with are not able to access statutory services and are not getting any support at all. Your donations can help provide transport to a unique prisoner's children support group in Liverpool called PSS. We currently cover travel costs as much as we can as the support offered is incredible - but our funds are running out!

Please donate if you can; a little can go a long way!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
