The Leprosy Mission is an international Christian development organisation that diagnoses, treats and offers holistic care to people affected by leprosy. Our aim is to transform lives and fight the effects of leprosy - from preventable disability to poverty and discrimination. I visited the Nilphamari Leprosy Hospital in Bangladesh in Nov, 2019 and was shocked at the severe disabilities that they suffer due to shrinking limbs. Many have had amputations. Despite this - many were smiling and showed strength and courage through their pain. They are in need of wheelchairs, medical equipment and more staff to support patients and for outreach work.
