Dragon Boat Day 2012 · 13 May 2012

The Rotary Club of Abingdon Vesper supports a broad range of projects both local and international. Community projects include annual barge trips on the Kennet and Avon canal for local people with physical disabilities. International projects range from Action for Children in Conflict in Kenya to supporting doctors in Tanzania.

Story

Welcome to the donations page for the ABSL Dragon Boat team, Space Gondoliers!

Come and support us by the Thames at Abingdon on Sunday 9th September.

This year our chosen cause will be Cancer Research & Macmillan Cancer Support, an obvious choice because early this year we lost Martin Gavin (1981-2012), one of our own and a good friend.

The money raised to pay for our team's entry will go to charity - Enersys/ABSL is paying the £495 entry fee and we as a team will beat it. Last year we raised £1,078, mainly for the Japan Tsumnami Appeal by the Red Cross.

As before some of the funds will go to charities chosen by the organisers including Helen & Douglas House; Sensory Garden at Abingdon Hospital (TBC) and international projects.

Anyway, please support us by giving an ammount of your choosing, however large or small.
