Story
On June 8th, we will be attempting to complete the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge (https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/welsh-three-peaks-challenge/) in memory of our dad/grandad, Richard. He had a special affinity for Wales, with its unspoilt landscape and coastline, and greatly enjoyed living there at various points in his life.
We hope that we can raise a bit of money for MIND (https://www.mind.org.uk/), the fantastic mental health charity that works so hard towards making sure each one of us experiencing a mental health problem is not alone.
Most, if not all, of us will be affected by mental ill health at some point in our lives, whether it is us, or someone we know. Our dad, Richard, struggled with mental ill health for much of his life, and while he had family around him, he wasn’t always able to talk to us about his health issues, which is why mental health services and professionals are so vital.
We want to thank MIND for the part they played in supporting our dad through his visits to the local MIND café, and to help raise awareness of the valuable work they do so others experiencing difficulties with mental health know they are not alone.
If you’re able to support MIND by donating however small an amount, thank you so much!
As a little extra incentive all round, please have a guess at our challenge completion time, either on this page or message us separately. We're aiming to complete it in 18 hours or under (driving included). There's a £10 garden voucher (for your own wellbeing) in it for the person who guesses closest to our actual finish time!
